A thermograph provided with a photographic film has been used to examine the frequency of honeydew production in scale insects. Rhythmic, circadian changes of honeydew production, with maximum of activity at night (seminatural conditions), have been observed in eight examined species. There types of activity have been distinguished. The influence of temperature on frequency of honeydew excretion is discussed. (Koteja, J.).
