Twenty one weed species were found in the examined maize field, 16 of them being dominant species. The most numerous species was Amaranthus retroplexus. Some broad-leaved weeds, Amaranthus blitoides and Hibiscus trionum, and some grass ones, Setaria glauca, were also important for their numerousness. The preparation combinations containing atrazin showed the best herbicidal effect. However, preparation Bladex too, combined with preparations against grasses can, according to the obtained results, substitute for the combinations of preparations with atrazin completely.
