Guar a drought resistant plant in the family Leguminosae, was grown and studied at Kampangsaen campus, Kasetsart University from February 24, 1983 to July 14, 1983 in order to find out the primary data on growing and crop yield. Plant spacing of 10 x 100 cm in 400 m2 growing area was used in this study. The harvesting of seed pods from the remaining 734 plants was done twice. The result from investigation showed that guar's life cycle was 120-150 days. Blooming started 30-35 days after planting. Seed forming within 15-20 days or 50 days after planting, 40-45 days later or 90 days after planting date the harvesting was carried out. The yield was obtained as follows: fresh plant weight of 142.22 Kg. or 568.88 Kg/rai, dry seed weight of 14.80 Kg. or 59.22 Kg/rai. The average dry seed yield per plant was 20.16 gm.
