Soil fertility information for the 41 soil groups found in the Burdekin irrigation area is presented and interpreted. P, organic C and total N levels are rated as low in most cases. DTPA trace elements and replaceable potassium are medium. Fertility declines in the 0.1 to 0.2 m segment of all soils.
