In 61% of pig farms being under control of gastro-intestinal helminths stationary trichocephalosis was observed. The extensiveness of Trichocephalus suis invasion ranged from 9.9 to 85.7%. In pigs affected with trichocephalosis feed consumption was higher by 0.47 kg than in animals free of the parasites.
