Some selected chemical compounds were tested in vitro for their bactericidal activity against Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica, E. amylovora, Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis and Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato as well as for their effectiveness in vivo against E. carotovora subsp. atroseptica on potato tubers. Such chemicals as sublimate, streptomycin, Dithane M-45 and Falisolan mostly with a high bactericidal activity were treated as control combinations. The influence of chemical treatment on germination of potato tubers was also studied.
