The highest increase of the spring barley biomass was obtained at the soil moisture content of 33 vol. percent. The best growth of barley occurred when NPK fertilization was combined with addition of Ca and Mg fertilizers. Different content of exchangeable alkaline cations in soil led to stronger changes in the mineral composition of barley plants than in its yields.
