In order to determine the yield of Pterocarpus macrocarpus plantation belonging to the Forest Industry Organization in East and Northeast the site index curve was set up by Anamorphic site index technique using the height at base age of 10 years to determine site index curves of site index 8,11 and 14 respectively. Merchantable volume (V) and branches weight (BW) per tree in various site index in plantation could be estimated by the following equations. site index 8: V = 0.0000516D 2.5106 (R2 =0.985); site index 11: V = 0.0000362D 2.6591 (R2 =0.978); BW = 0.0575042 D2 2.2073 (R2 =0.710); site index 14: V = 0.0000143D 2.9292 (R2 =0.976); BW = 0.0084004D 3.1580 (R2 =0.966); The analysis of yield by various models, finally the yield equations were adopted as follows. logD = 1.1043-5.2787 (1/A) + 0.6599 logS - 0.0017 N (R2 =0.863); logH 1.3546-4.1325 (1/A) + 0.0251S - 0.0017 logN (R2 =0.862); logBA = 0.0594-10.4352 (1/A) + 1.1996 logS - 13.9796 (1/N) (R2 =0.911); logV = 2.6530-13.2120(1/A) + 7.1645 (1/S)-11.7502 (1/N) (R2 =0.894); logBW = 1.0028-15.1994(1/A) + 0.0798S - 11.2113 (1/N) (R2 =0.929) when A = Age, years; S = Site index, m.; N = Number of trees per rai; D = Average diameter at breast height, cm.; H = Average top height, m.; BA = Basal area, m2 per rai; V = Merchantable volume (without bark, m3 per rai; BW = Branches weight, ton per rai. These equations can be simply used when age, site index and number of trees per rai are known. In addition, yield per rai is tabulated for field practice.
