Ricerche sull' irrigazione del ficodindia [Opuntia ficus indica Mill.].

Within the context of the development process which the prickly pear culture is now going through in Sicily, more and more often farmers use irrigation to get fruits having better commercial characteristics. The research was carried out in 1981 and 1982, and its aims was to compare three different irrigation programs - and, more precisely 1)one watering at the end of the bloom period: 2)one watering one month after the bloom period; 3)two waterings - to anohter not involving irrigation. The results show the efficiency of the irrigation, especially if perfomed twice during summer, in order to get, both from a quantitative and a qualitative point of veiw, better crops.
Show more [+] Less [-]ITALIANO: Nell'ambito del processo di sviluppo che la coltura del ficodindia sta attraversando in Sicilia e sempre piu frequente da parte degli agricoltori il ricorso all'irrigazione per l'ottenimento di frutti di pregiate caratteristiche commerciali. Questa ricerca e stata condotta negli anni 1981 e 1982 ponendo a confronto tre differenti regimi irrigui precisamente 1. una irrigazione a fine fioritura; 2. una irrigazione un mese dopo la fioritura, 3. due irrigazioni, con un controllo non irrigato. I risultati ottenuti mostrano l'efficacia dell'irrigazione, soprattutto se ripetuta 2 volte nel corso della stagione estiva, nello ottenimento di produzioni superiori per quantita e qualita.
