Effects of different of ammonia, chlorine and chloramines on the mortality of Daphnia magna were investigated. For comparison, two other crustacean species were used in parts of the experiments: a planktonic Simocephalus vetulus and a benthic Asellus aquaticus. The animals showed different degrees of sensitivity to the tested solutions: the highest was found for D. magna and the least for A. aquaticus.
