Attention was focused on children during the International Year of the Child, resulting in collection of a huge amount of demographic information, which has been compiled into a data sheet covering 3 age groups (0-15 years), for about 150 countries or regions. Percentages were computed for total numbers of children in the population in 1975 and projected increase (or decrease) by 2000. Infant mortality rate, life expectancy, numbers in school and students per teacher are also included. Nutrition information is represented as calorie supply per capita as a percentage of requirements, Portugal and Luxembourg being highest at 141 and Upper Volta lowest at 73.
