The analysis of growth of application of chemical preparations with the use of proposed measures and indices determining the range of chemical protection of plants does not allow to characterize separately the state and the private sector of agriculture. Only the index of the percentage of pesticide costs of the materials can be referred to either sector. State farms show a higher consumption of plant protection preparations than private peasant farms in the analyzed group of crops, except for rape.
