Binding of respiratory and nitrogen metabolism in yellow lupine was investigated. Experiments were conducted on germinating seeds, roots and root nodules, isolated embryos, grown in vitro on different media. The more important results of the investigation: 1 - homogenous fractions of bacteroids were obtained from root nodules; 2 - the integrative role of glutamate dehydrogenase was revealed; 3 - two kinds of protein, immunologically different, were observed in lupine seeds and root nodules; 4 - very active alcohol dehydrogenase at oxygen stress was observed in germinating seeds and root nodules; 5 - a model of fermentation products utilization by bacteroids in the cells of lupine root nodules has been proposed.
