English. In 1982 the Plum pox virus was found to be present in a fairly limited area of Cuneo province in Piedmont, Northwest Italy. It was detected in apricot and some mirabolan and wild peach roootstocks of infected apricots. Results of a preliminary investigation are reported, together with steps taken to contain the disease, and the prospects for its eradication.

ITALIANO: Nel 1982 e stata accertata in Piemonte la presenza del virus della vaiolatura delle drapacee in un'area piuttosto limitata della provincia di Cuneo esclusivamente su albicocco e suoi portainnesti. Si espongono i risultati in un prima indagine, le misure adottate per il contenimento della malattia e le prospettive per una sua eradicazione.
