Black polyethylene sheet placed in the belt under the vine stalk, compared with standard manual cultivation performed three times a year, exerted positive influence on the vegetative growth of the vine stalk and on the beginning of yielding ability. Application of herbicides and their combinations in young vineyards is possible. The applied herbicide combinations "Devrinol" + "Caragard" and "Devrinol" + "Simazin", when compared with manual hoeing, had favourable effects on the vegetative growth of vine.
