The presence of such gases as ammonium hydrate, methane carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide in the air of pigsties and poultry houses, as well as their harmful influence on animals' health and productivity are explained. The reaction of pigs and poultry to ammonium hydrate, and the diseases caused by its influence are described. The prevention of ammonium hydrate emission by adding the conventional means to the litter is criticized. A new preparation-the feed additive Biotan NH3-Killer tested on poultry and pigs is recommended. Its composition, application, effect and advantages are discussed.
