The distance of water movement is related to the square root of time after flooding. The rate of water movement in soil for cassava, rice fields, rambutan, durian plantation and para rubber plantations ranged from lowest to highest respectively. Due to the tuber root of cassava, the horizontal movement of water is faster than any rice field. For medium rate of movement, the shallow fibrous root of rambutan immediately moved after flooding with a high rate, the penetrated water will be decreased in the old plantation which is composed of many sizes of seedling and pole similar to natural forest by evaporation.
