Performance of pre-weaned piglets fed diets with anti-scour agents.
1995
Junsay A.B.
A feeding trial was conducted to compare the performance of pre-weaned piglets fed diets with olaquindox, halquinol and the combination of halquinol and dimetridazole. Two hundred twenty eight, one-week old piglets belonging to 24 litters were selected and distributed to three different treatments. Creep feed with olaquindox (150 ppm), halquinol (120 ppm) and halquinol (60 ppm) plus dimetridazole (100 ppm) were offered to the piglets from 7 to 28 days of age. Results showed no significant differences in feed consumption, weekly body weight and body weight gain, scouring incidence and duration, and mortality of piglets fed diets with different anti-scour agents.
