In order to evaluate the effect of Direct-Fed Microbials (D.F.M.) and enzymes on dairy calves productivity parameters, 60 Holstein Friesian calves, male and female, were selected in three dairy on San Carlos, Nuble. The calves were assigned to randomized blocks design for two treatments (with D.F.M: and without D.F.M.) with 10 repetitions in three blocks (dairy). The animals of treated group received 10 g/day of Prokura Micromix FG (L. acidophilus, L. lactis and B. subtilis.) once daily on the milk and 1 kg/ton of Concentrate of Prokura Yeast 3E (S. cerviciae and three enzymes). Average daily gain for the time was 585.4, 407.9 and 793.3 for treated calves and 475.1, 142.6 and 677.2 for the control calves presenting significant differences (P < or 0,05). No differences were detected among treatments for the consumption of total dry matter. Although other differences in feed conversion and diarrhoea days were not significant, there was a trend for the feed conversion and diarrhoea days to have a positive effect on these variables. The inclusion of the D.F.M. turned out to be economically feasible.
