English. Gladiolus corms (cv Peter pears) of two different sizes from 6 to 8 and from 12 to 14 cm were transplanted at the end of winter 1989. At the following stage the following treatments were compared: a) removal of the flowering stem at the base of the plant; b) removal of the flowering stem above the 2nd, 4th and 6th leaf; c) no removal of the flowering stem. Cormel differentiation was visible after the flowering stage. Cormel production resulted positively correlated to the plant leaf area. The equation on the linear regression was y = 3.045 * 3.483 x. The average cormel circumference was 3.5 cm and the different treatments had a low influence on cormel quality.
Show more [+] Less [-]ITALIANO: [Bulbo-tuberi di gladiolo (cv Peter Pears) di due dimensioni diverse da 6 a 8 e da 12 a 14 cm sono stati trapiantati alla fine dell'inverno 1989. Ai seguenti stadi sono stati paragonati i seguenti trattamenti: a. rimozione del fusto in fiore alla base della pianta; b. rimozione del fusto in fiore al di sopra della 2., 4. e 6. foglia; c. nessuna rimozione del fusto in fiore. La differenziazione dei bulbetti era visibile dopo lo stadio della fioritura. La produzione dei bulbetti e' risultata in correlazione positiva con l'area fogliare della pianta. L'equazione della regressione lineare era: y = 3.045 + 3.483 x. La circonferenza media del bulbetto era di 3.5 cm e i diversi trattamenti hanno avuto una scarsa influenza sulla qualita' dei bulbetti].
