Comparable study of 155 cotton lines, received from the Improvement of Plant Varieties Project KURDI, with Srisamrong 2, the commercial variety, under laboratory and greenhouse conditions found 9 cotton lines - 30, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 87, 109 and 153 - potentially resistant to the american bollworm. The statistical difference were noticed among the mean weight of larva, percent larval mortality, the duration of larva, pupa and adult, pupal size and morphological characters of adult. Moreover, cage study in the greenhouse indicated that the 9 cotton lines were at lower level of attack on leaves, squares and bolls by the insects than the control.
