Efecto de los sistemas silvopastoriles en la fertilidad edáfica

Se realizó un estudio en tres suelos diferentes con el objetivo de determinar la evolución de algunos indicadores químicos del suelo (pH, MO, Ca y K) y de la macrofauna (individuos mayores que 2 mm) en sistemas silvopastoriles con diez años de explotación, los cuales se compararon con el monocultivo. En cada vaquería se tomaron muestras de suelo en 10 y se cuantificaron los individuos presentes a una profundidad de 20 cm. Se encontró que la materia orgánica fue mayor en los sistemas con árboles (4,4 y 4,5%) que en el monocultivo (3%), al igual que los otros indicadores antes mencionados. Al comparar los sistemas silvopastoriles con el monocultivo se observó que en los primeros hubo una mayor diversidad de organismos. De acuerdo con los resultados se concluye que el silvopastoreo es una buena opción que contribuye al mejoramiento de la fertilidad de los suelos, sin afectar el medio ambiente.

A study was carried out on three different soils with the objective of determining the evolution of some soil chemical indicators (pH, OM, Ca, and K) and the macrofauna (organisms higher than 2 mm) in silvopastoril systems with ten years of exploitation, which were compared to the monocrop. In each dairy unit, soil samples were taken in 10 paddocks and the organisms present at a depth of 20 cm were quantified. The organic matter was found to be higher in the systems with trees (4.4 to 4.5%) than in the monocrop (3%), like the other indicators. When comparing the silvopastoril systems to the monocrop, a higher diversity of organisms was observed in the former. According to the results, it can be concluded that silvopastoril systems are a good choice that contribute to the improvement of soil fertility, without affecting the environment.
