EFFECTS OF SOWING TIME AND COVERING ON GERMINATION OF SUMAC (Rhus coriaria L.) SEEDS IN GREENHOUSE AND FIELD | SERA VE AÇIK ALANDA SUMAK (Rhus coriaria L.) TOHUMLARI ÇİMLENMESİ ÜZERİNE EKİM ZAMANI VE ÖRTÜLEMENİN ETKİLERİ

English. In this study, we investigated the effects of 48 combinations constituted six different coverings and eight sowing times (one monthly intervals) from 15 th October 2004 to 15 th May 2005 on the germination of Sumac seeds in greenhouse and field. It was found out that the highest germination ratio was obtained from the combination of “the sowing in greenhouse+covering double with sack+keeping in the polyethylene tunnel” on 15 th October 2004. However, it was found that the lowest germination ratio was provided from the control (not covering) sowing on 15 th October 2004. As result, it was determined that the combinations of the sowing in greenhouse, early sowing and covering with sack or keeping in the polyethylene tunnel treatments were beneficial effects for the germination ratio.Keywords: Rhus coriaria L., Germination, Sowing time, Covering

Bu çalışmada, sera ve açık alanda altı farklı örtüleme şeklinin sekiz ekim zamanı (15 Ekim 2004-15 Mayıs 2005 tarihleri arasında ve bir aylık aralıklarla) ile oluşturduğu 48 kombinasyonunun Sumak tohumlarının çimlenmesi üzerine etkileri araştırılmıştır. Buna göre, en yüksek çimlenme oranı “serada ekim+çift kat telisle örtüleme+polietilen tünele alma” örtüleme şekli ile 15 Ekim 2004 tarihli ekim zamanı kombinasyonunda saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte, en düşük çimlenme oranı ise 15 Ekim 2004 tarihli kontrol (örtülmemiş) ekiminde bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, ekimlerin sera koşullarında ve erken tarihte gerçekleştirilmesi ile üzerine telis örtülmesi ya da polietilen tünele alınması işlemlerinin birleştirilmesinin çimlenme oranına olumlu etkiler yaptığı ortaya çıkmıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Rhus coriaria L., Çimlenme, Ekim zamanı, Örtüleme
