Using a runoff sampler, systematic studies of wind erosion and the relevant causing factors were carried out at a location in the Subotica - Horgos Sands. The orientation of these samplers in different directions enabled us to distinguish the following: total production of wind sediment (arithmetic sum of all sediment amounts, or cumulative quantities) and the portion of the sediment carried away outside the erosion field (vector sum of soil losses, or resultant quantities). Therefore, for defining this process we applied the vector approach, whereby we determined the intesity, direction, and the orientation of action, i.e. we quantified the amounts of wind sediment and its general direction of motion in the investigated period of time.
