This paper investigates the fertility components of Fl generation sows of Swedish Landrace young sows crossed with Duroc boars. The results for the first farrowing are as follows:the average first inseminination age is about 8 months and the first farrowing is before reaching one year of age. The total number of born piglets is very variable, and the number of liveborn ones is below expectations. The number of weaned halfbreed piglets is insufficient (7.35).The number of piglets that died during suckling is relatively high (1.40).The individual weaning weight is within the limits for purebred pigs under Yugoslavian conditions. The results for the second farrowing are:compared with the first farrowing, fertility increased by 3.9%, the number of liveborn by 7% and the number of still-born ones decreased significantly (0.19 piglets per litter). The number of weaned piglets was 1.15 higher and fewer piglets died during suckling. The weight of piglets was 0.51 kg higher than in the first farrowing. -The results for the third farrowing show that the tendency of improvement of reproductive properties continues. The total number of born piglets was 11.43, of liveborn ones 11.14, the number of still-born piglets was higher in the second, but lower than in the first farrowing. During suckling 22.6% piglets died. The weaning weight was the highest in the third farrowing and the lowest in the first. Heterotic effect for the investigated properties in this crossing did not show.
