Hybridization among species of Juglans L. genus was performed in a forest nursery "Sremcica" near Belgrade. 11 Juglans sieboldiana trees of vegetative origin, 10 years old, up to 4 m high, in which normal and abundant fruiting had been noticed in the previous years, were chosen fot the mother component. The following inter-species crossings were performed: J. sieboldiana x J. regia;J. sieboldiana x J. nigra and J. sieboldiana x J. mandshurica. On the basis of the obtained results the following conclusions were drawn: 1) J. sieboldiana species is good as a female parent for the performance of experimental works on inter-species hybridization. 2)Using J. sieboldiana as a female parent, crossed with J. regia, J. nigra and J. mandshurica, a high percentage of fruit formation is obtained, being 26% in this experiment. 3)A number of fruits was obtained from isolated, but unpollinated flowers(9.5%, but this is more because of the imperfect hybridization technique, i.e. of improper isolation of female flowers, than of parthenogenesis. This datum does not bring into doubt the success of the realized hybridization, because the difference in the percentages of these hybrid fruits is high. 4)Morphological and pomological characteristics of hybrid and normal fruits are almost identical.
