This paper investigates the possibilities of using a rotary flail shredder as a combined implement for single-stage sowing of cereals. The obtained results show the following: -It is possible to unite a series of operations, this resulting in much lower energy consumption. -The yields are increased, due to a better quality of all operations and the possibility of carrying them out timely. -Economical operation and profitability are increased and wheat production costs are reduced. -The investigated implement can be used in carrying out the single-stage primary cultivation, pre-sowing preparation and sowing of stubble crops, after harvesting the rape, barley, early wheat varieties etc. It is also possible to perform primary row crops cultivation (over 20 cm deep) while the flail shredder is operating in the direction opposite to that of the tractor, during the single-stage pre-sowing preparation, incorporation of herbicides, fertilization and plantions (fruit and vine growing). In 1983 a serial production of the rotary flail shredder RS-1800 with alternating rotating direction of the rotor was patented and started in the Mining equipment manufacture in Grljan, the suburban area of Zajecar (SFRY). The research work on further improvement of the flail shredder with trailing implements continues.
