This paper presents the results of investigating the difference in the effects of certain pesticides used in practice and their negative effects on sprouted wheat seed, as well as negative effects of inedaquate doses of preparations on the biological properties of grain and the economical usage of preparations. The investigation was carried out under laboratory conditions. The following wheat varieties were used for investigation:Posavka-2,Novosadska rana-3 and jugoslavija. The preparations investigated were:liquid Zorosan, containg 1% mercury, Panogen M, containing 1.8% metoxy-ethyl-Hg-acetate, Busan EC-30, containg 30% (+-5%) TCMTD (2-thyocyanomethyol/benzothiazole), Dithane S-60, containing 2.5% zinc complex,20% manganese, as wellas 60% dithiocarbamate. On the basis of the results obtained the following conclusions were drawn: -There are differences among the preparations in the intensity of toxic effects on wheat seed sprouting. -There are certain differences among varieties concerning the tolerance of certain preparations quantity, which was higher for Dithane S-60 and liquid Zorosan, somewhat lower for Panogen M and the lowest for Busan EC-30. Application of adequate quantities of the preparations gives satisfactory results.
