[Spread, tendencies and problems in raising and producing "Smederevka" grape cultivar]

"Smederevka" variety is recommended or permitted for raising in many areas full of vineyards in SR Serbia, SAP Voivodina, SAP Kosovo, SR Monte Negro, SR Macedonia, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina (SFRY) by viticulture reonization. It is not reonized in SR Croatia, but it is cultivated in some vineyard areas of south Dalmatia. In SR Slovenia it is also not reonized. In Smederevo productive area (SR Serbia) the greatest participation (70-90%) belongs to this variety. The balance of grape products in 1972-1982 proves that quantity of grape products is constantly increasing. The rapid increasement was in the years 1980, 1981 and 1982. The sugar content in must is varying and during the last years of experimental period it was relatively low; it was especially low in 1980, 1981 and 1982. The best sugar content in must of "smederevka" variety was when it varying between 17 and 18%. The content of total acids in this variety is very favourable. Meteorologic factors are very important for the time of grape ripening, sugar content and content of total acids in the must of this variety. By its fruitfull potential and its yields this variety belongs to high productive ones. Its yield is specially influenced by lineage base, way of raising and cutting, fertilizing and regime of nutrition, selection etc. This variety of grape could be very useful for production of strong alcoholic drinks or soft drinks
