[Research and selection of high-yielding common bean varieties capable of growing in ecological conditions of hilly-mountainous regions [SR Croatia (SFRY)]]
1984
Lesic, R. (Fakultet poljoprivrednih znnosti, Zagreb (Yugoslavia))
In SR Croatia (SFRY), in the eastern Slavonia lowland region common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) can be grown in pure culture with economic justifiability. Common bean production in western Slavonia hilly--mountainous regions is possible, but with larger yield variations. Yields can be within the limits of economic justifiability if appropriate varieties are chosen. In Dalmatinska zagora karst fields stable bean production is possible only with help of irrigation. On the basis of this experiment a newly created variety KM-74 named "Kutjevacki rani" and ecotype for the region of Slavonia "Slavonski zeleni" have been introduced in The journal of acknowledged agricultural plant varieties at the territory of SR Croatia.
