[Regeneration of the subchondral bone of the dog shoulder joint]
1985
Kos, J.
On the basis of the presented survey of Osteochondrosis dissecans the following was concluded: 1. It is impossible to make an exact diagnosis only by clinical examination, without an X-ray finding; 2. When osteochondrosis is suspected the X-ray examination ought to be done strictly in the mediolateral projection; 3. Conservative treatment is not justifiable since it is a symptomatic, not a causal one; 4. Only surgical removal of the cartilage and osteonecrotic bone can lead to the complete and irretrievable healing of the process; 5. The newly made excavation in the place of the defect with centrally placed connective tissue cicatrice disburdens the most heavily burdened segment of the shoulder joint.
