Markik, Z. (Veterinaren institut, Skopje (Yugoslavia))
All seven strains of Yersinia enterocolitica isolated from pigs in SR Macedonia (Yugoslavia) agglutinate with antiserum 09. They have been isolated from 4 out of 24 (16.66%) investigated animals. Three strains have been isolated from the tonsils of 2 out of 24 investigated pigs (8.33%). Four strains have been isolated from the caecum of three pigs (12.5%). Y. enterocolitica has been isolated both from the tonsils and caecum of one pig. Six strains have been isolated in Mac Conkey's broth and one in blood agar. The examined number of pigs (24) was too small for statistical analysis.
