Physical and chemical properties of grain of 7 maize hybrids, namely 3 trihybrids (ZPTC-196, ZPTC-460 and ZPTC-705) and 4 double cross hybrids (ZPSC-513, ZPSC-615, ZPSC-632 and ZPSC-709 t) were investigated. The hybrids ZPTC-705, ZPSC-709 t, ZPSC-615 and ZPSC-513 with an absolute grain mass over 300 g fall into the category of maize having a high absolute mass and ZPTC-196, ZPSC-632 and ZPTC-460 into the category with mean values of absolute mass (249.5 - 296.9). The examined hybrids have a high hectolitre weight (80.0 - 85.7 kg). The endosperm fraction varies from 79.5 to 82.0%, the germ fraction from 13.0 to 13.8% and the fraction of husk with grain radicle from 5.0 to 7.3%. The examined hybrids are rich in starch, its content being over 68%. The grain of the hybrids contains little cellulose (1.7 - 2.1%) and ash (1.35 - 1.61%). The protein content in the grain is 9 - 10% and in the endosperm 7.9 - 8.9%. The oil content in the germ is 30.2 - 33.7%. The endosperm and the husk contain little oil (1.1 - 1.4% and 1.3 - 1.6%).
