Some combinations of lines Triticum polinicum and T. turgidum 67-A, using durum cultivars as testers, retained a considerable part of heterosis in F2 concerning such properties as: grain weight per ear, grain number per ear, thousand seed weight, ear weight and spikelet number per spike. Both forms of T. carthlicum exhibited heterotic effects concerning thousand seed weight, grain number per ear and yield. Hybrids involving forms of T. turgidum, T. carthlicum and T. turanicum showed early earing with all 4 testers.
