Head bones of muflon (Ovis musimon L.) and domestic sheep (Ovis aries) are very similar in shape and size since both species belong to the same Bovidae family and to the same Ovis genus. Comparative investigation has revealed some significant differences on the basis of which the origin of bones could be determined. There are particularly evident and clear differences in the shape, colour and growth direction of horns with male species, the shape and dimension of snout bones as well as the shape and direction of Processus jugularis ossis occipitalis, Fossa lacrimalis and so on.
