Investigation of the oxygen balance in the river Danube near Belgrade (Yugoslavia), on the 1,173.5 th km, in the zone where the degree of pollution with waste waters is high, shows that it is positive. The oxygenbalance is probably more favourable in purer parts of the Danube, away from Belgrade.
