Protein content and the amino acid composition of grain of some wheat cultivars

Protein content and the amino acid composition of grain have been investigated in the following wheat cultivars: "Partizanka", "Bezostaja", "Nova banatska", "Krajinka", "Kragujevcanka-56", "Novosadska rana-1", "Novosadska rana-2", "Libelula" and "Zlatna dolina". On the basis of the achieved results it could be concluded that the protein content is mostly a cultivar characteristics and that it inconsiderably changes in relation to the agricultural-ecological conditions and cultivation. The content of essential and inessential amino acids in all the investigated wheat cultivars shows the identical relationship, 35:56% of SAA (sum of amino acids) except for the "Krajinka" cultivar in which the relationship is 37.15% : 62.85%.
