Dendometric characteristics of the poplar (Populus spp.) plantations have been established. Trees in plantation have such dimensions (d1=7.4-9.0 cm) that in the production of standard cellulose trees, the share of unused part of the tree in plantation would be 43-64%. By chipping of whole poplar trees in poplar plantations aged 4, the process is considerably simplified. By the application of chipping the production costs for a production unit reduce by 3 times in comparison with the production of a standard cellulose tree.
