The achieved results proved that there were no significant differences between properties of semichemical pulp obtained from poplars (P x deltoides, cl. 725) and willows (Salix alba, cl. 107/65/7). Two times higher share of bark in willow chips compared to those of poplars did not have a considerable influence on the mechanical properties of semichemical pulp. In identical conditions, in the process of delignification a higher percent of lignine is derived from the willow tree as compared to the poplar tree.
