Influence of foliar application of nitrogen on protein content and composition of wheat grain

Leaf feeding with nitrogen in the earing stage has brought about the changes in the crude protein contents and fraction and amino acid compositions. The crude protein contents increased by 35 % on the average for all varieties. The contents of all fractions relative to the dry matter increased, but in an uneven ratio. The contents and ratios of amino acids varied in relation with the grain dry matter and the total amino acids (sum of proteins). The changes of the crude protein contents, their fraction and amino acid contents depended on the variety.
