This is a study of the effect that herbicides have on the yield of a wheat crop with low intensity of weed occurrence. Herbicides were applied twice, once in the tillering stage and later, close to the shooting stage. Herbicides, Pyridate 2 l/ha and Dichlorprop + Dicamba 1.8 l/ha controlled effectively the tenacious weed species called Galium aparine. When selecting the herbicide combination for use on maize, the preceeding crop of wheat, the consequences of the residual effect of Atrazin on wheat must be taken into consideration. Herbicide application in the later stage, before wheat shooting, causes a decrease in the yield. The use of herbicides on a wheat crop with low intensity of weed occurence is not justified.
