This is a study on the grain chemical composition of 10 sorghum hybrids produced on different localities in SAP Vojvodina (Yugoslavia). The greatest difference between the tested hybrids was in the crude protein content. Compared to other cereals, the average crude protein content in sorghum is higher than in maize, but lower than in barley. The sorghum grain belongs to a group of exceptionally energetic feed with its average net energy content of 8.63 MJ in dry matter. According to the grain energy content, sorghum is quite similar to barley, but compared to maize it is lower.
