Production characteristics of some apricot cultivars in Vojvodina [Yugoslavia]

A trial was carried out on 80 apricot cultivars, hybrids and clones introduced from abroad and from our own collections in the ecological conditions of Vojvodina (Yugoslavia). After 10-year studies (1978-1988), some cultivars, hybrids and clones showed highly positive production qualities, such as cropping, fruit quality and general health status of trees. The best production properties were recorded in cv Roxana (21 points), Ligeti Orias, Kostjuzenski and Ambrosia cl. NS (19 points), N.J.A-1, Bademolika, hybrid - 252 and Ahrori (17 points). Hungarian Best as the standard had 15, out of 24 points possible. The highest number of productive years was recorded in hybrids N.J.A-1 and 252 (7), followed by Roxana, Ligeti Orias, Kostjuzenski, Ambrosia cl. NS, Bademolika, Melitopoljska Rana and Kisnjevska Rana (5), whereas Hungarian Best gave only three crops in the course of 8 bearing years.
