This is a study of the possibility of X-ray diagnostics for early detection of rachitic changes in the skeletal system of rabbits in the period when they are transferred from suckling to industrial feed. The experiment included clinically healthy rabbits, after being transferred from suckling, at the age of 30,35,40 and 45 days. It was established that X-ray diagnostics enables the detection of mild initial changes which suggest a disturbed mineral content in the skeleton of rabbits in intensive production, at the age of about 35 days, when the youngsters are transferred from the mother's milk (rich in calcium) to industrial feed which does not contain the same percentage of calcium.
