By the modified method of Kinsolving et al. (1963) 39 pig embryos, 12-195 mm of body length and 22-77 days old, were examined for the activity of adenosine triphosphatase. ATPase activity was present in all the embryos examined but in individually different concentrations. A correspondence was observed between total and residual ATPase and was confirmed by the statistical treatment of data. Also a similarity was observed between ATPase activity in the pig amniotic and the pig allantoic fluid.
