In four-year field trials imazethapyr herbicide (Pivot) showed good selectivity in peas and wide spectrum of activity on many important weed species: Sinapis arvensis, Solanum nigrum, Datura stramonium, Amaranthus retroflexus, Setaria sp. Applied post emergence at rate of 75 g.a.i./ha or higher imazethapyr delayed the time of maturity of peas. This gives possibility of increasing growing area of high-yealding varieties and their harvesting at the best stage in order to obtain best quality.
