Comparison between the visual density of tobacco raw and the reconstituted tobacco obtained from it
1988
Korubin-Aleksoska, A. (Institut za tutun, Prilep (Yugoslavia))
The matter of investigation was the raw of leaf veins of Virginia tobacco varieties, leaf veins of Burley tobacco varieties, choppings from manipulation, choppings from manufacture and remanufactured choppings. As a control we used the raw from the Reconstituted Tobacco Department (Tobacco Combinate - Prilep), which consisted of: choppings from manufacture (60%), choppings from manipulation (20%) and remanufactured choppings (20%). Based on the investigation it might be stated that the reconstituted tobacco appears to be darker in colour than the raw from which it was obtained for 97,83%. The raw obtained from leaf veins of the Virginia tobacco variety has a brighter colour. If this raw is added to the control, the visual density of the reconstituted tobacco wil be lower, i.e. a brighter reconstituted tobacco will be obtained.
