The paper investigates to what extent is the so-called Inoculum effect manifested in testing the sensitivity of Escherichia coli and Salmonellae wien to beta-lactam antibiotics. It has been concluded that with such testing, the Inoculum effect must be taken into account to avoid mistaking the turbidity for growth or resistance.
