Carrot varieties, Scarlet Nantes and Formula, demonstrated high productional characteristics in the studied conditions for both years studied. The total root yield achieved was an average of 85 t/ha and there was practically no difference between the varieties. The yield depended on the quantity of nitrogen fertilizer and it was the highest when 30 kg of nitrogen per unit of area was used. The average yield of the Formula variety standard roots was 4.19 t/ha higher than that of the Scarlet Nantes variety. The root dry matter yield was higher for the Formula variety by 16% than the other variety studied, while the root dry matter content was higher by 1.5%.
