Phytotoxic effects of some herbicides on onion in onion bulb production

By studying the phytotoxicity of some herbicides (Pendymethylene, Propachlorine and Aziprotrine) in onion bulb production, the following has been established: Lowest phytotoxicity was caused by Pendymethylene when the seeds were covered with fermented organic fertilizer (7.7%); Out of all the herbicides, Pendymethylene caused the lowest phytotoxicity (30.3%), and Propachlorine the highest (76.7%); Out of all the covers, the lowest phytotoxicity was caused by fermented organic fertilizer, and very high by alluvium and river mud; The sowing depth i.e., the height of the sowing cover, practically had no influence on the degree of phytotoxicity of Propachlorine and Aziprotrine.
